Michael Shaikh s a writer and human rights investigator who has worked for twenty years in areas marred by political crisis and armed conflict. He has worked at Human Rights Watch, International Crisis Group, the Center for Civilians in Conflict, the UN’s Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, and the New York City Mayor’s Office of Climate and Environmental Justice. Shaikh is on the board of both Adi Magazine and Fortify Rights. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, he lives in New York City.

Alicia Kennedy is a writer from Long Island. She is the author of No Meat Required: The Cultural History and Culinary Future of Plant-Based Eating and On Eating: The Making and Unmaking of My Appetites. She is the publisher of From the Desk of Alicia Kennedy, a food and culture newsletter that hosts events, community, and more.
